1. Cookies and local storage
Cookies are small pieces of data saved by your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage, which let Skyward remember information on your device. These technologies can keep you signed in and preserve app state between visits. The exact cookie names and expiry times may change as our authentication service evolves.
2. Storage Skyward needs
We use first-party storage for the following purposes:
- Sign-in and security. Authentication cookies and tokens keep your account signed in and allow Skyward to load your data securely.
- App progress and preferences. Local storage helps preserve your quests, progress, settings, and interface state on this device while the app syncs with the cloud.
- Session state. Temporary browser storage helps features such as multiplayer and journal prompts work across screens and reloads.
These are used to provide the features you request, not for advertising. Skyward does not intentionally set analytics or advertising cookies.
Sign-in storage lasts until your session expires, you sign out, or you clear it. Local storage can remain until you clear site data or remove the app; session storage generally lasts for the current browser tab or session. Your cloud account data is retained separately as described in the Privacy Policy.
3. Embedded music and video
On desktop, Skyward can display embedded players from Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube for focus music and shared media. A player may load when its panel is shown, even before you press play. The provider may receive your IP address and browser information and may set or read its own cookies or similar storage according to its policies. YouTube content in multiplayer uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed domain, but that does not guarantee no data is processed.
These providers control their own storage and retention. We do not use their cookies to track you across websites or receive your playback history from them. If you do not want an embedded provider to load, avoid opening the music or shared-media panel; on desktop, a focus-music player may already be visible on the dashboard.
4. Sign-in providers
If you choose Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple, you are sent through that provider's sign-in flow. Google or Apple may use their own cookies or device storage on their pages to authenticate you. Their privacy policies govern that storage.
5. Your choices
You can manage or clear cookies and site data in your browser settings. On iOS, you can manage website data through your device settings. Blocking essential storage may prevent sign-in and syncing. Clearing Skyward's local storage may also remove progress that has not synced yet, so check your cloud sync or export a backup first.
You can also avoid the optional embedded media features. Browser privacy controls may restrict third-party cookies, though those controls do not necessarily stop an embedded provider from receiving a request when its player loads.
6. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when Skyward's storage practices change. The date above will show the latest revision. For questions, contact Joshua Suite at joshuasuite9@gmail.com.
